Your pup's chest measurement should fall in between the chest measurement of the harness. Most returns are because the harness is too small, so if your dog is on the larger end of a size, it's best to go up to the next size.

Measure. Measure. Measure.
Your dog’s chest measurement is more important than weight when it comes to choosing the correct size harness. Think of it like pants for a human. You can’t pick out the right size pants if you only know someone’s weight.
Measure all the way around your dog’s chest, right behind the front legs. Your dog’s chest measurement should fall BETWEEN the chest measurements of the harness.
Sizing isn’t standard in the pet world. Size small in one brand isn’t always the same as a small in another brand.

United StatesYes, it's perfectly feme like my two wee 5 & 6lb shih tzu's, however the sizing is way off. Usually they wear a X-Small, well it was too too small, so I upsized BUT the Small it was too big (sounds like the 3-bears?), I loved it so much I just used my sewing machine and took it in.
